It may be a fan problem. The TV overheats and shuts itself off to protect the circuitry. 

Turn on the TV and listen for the fan. If you never listen to the fan, it may be busted.

Simple test for frequency settings: Tape the front of the IR receiver, so it can&#039;t receive any IR commands (you will not be able to use your remote either though..).   If the TV shuts-off again, then your IR receiver is OK.</description>
